Melanie Sauer-Beegle, M.Ed., M.B.A.

Melanie Sauer-Beegle is a recognized expert in both finance and higher education. Currently, Melanie heads up business operations at California Public Radio (SCPR) as Director of Business Operations. SCPR operates news and information radio stations in Southern California, Riverside and Orange Counties, Sacramento, and Washington D.C. and is considered an industry leader in public media. She also uses her blended background in education, accounting and finance to teach online courses in Finance and Accounting for the MBA program at St. Georges University in Grenada, West Indies.

After completing a Master’s degree in Education Administration and Human Development, she held key leadership educational administration positions at University of Southern California and Scripps College among other academic institutions. At that time, Melanie was considered an industry leader, presenting on strategy and leadership development at national conferences, teaching university courses in leadership as well as being elected to regional associations and boards.

With a BA in Accounting, she added to her financial expertise by obtaining an MBA in Finance Strategy at the Peter F. Drucker Graduate School of Management. At that time, she was also recruited as Associate Director for the Executive Management Program at Drucker. In 2002, she transitioned to a career in Finance when she was invited to join Southern California Public Radio as the head of business operations.

In the community, Ms. Sauer serves on the Board of Trustees for the Child Educational Center in La Canada, California. Since 2005, she has led the Finance committee and served as their treasurer. She also provided advisory and consulting services for other social entrepreneurs and non-profit organizations in theatre arts.
